Hortica Announces New Board Member |

Hortica Insurance & Employee Benefits, specialists in providing business insurance, employee benefits and personal insurance to the horticultural industry since 1887, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Young, CPCU, to its board of directors.
Young recently retired from General Reinsurance Corporation, where he worked for more than 22 years. His most recent position with the firm was as senior vice president in their Los Angeles branch office.
During his thirty-five year career in insurance, Young’s areas of focus have centered on underwriting and pricing all casualty insurance products, including worker’s compensation, general liability, automobile, medical malpractice and other professional liability products. Over the years he has dealt extensively with the entire insurance distribution spectrum, including direct sales representatives, national brokers, as well as many specialty, and excess and surplus lines carriers.
Prior to joining General Reinsurance Corporation, Young held positions with Wausau Insurance Company. He received his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1987. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, with a major in business and a minor in sociology.
