We've developed long-standing relationships with top tier, highly secure reinsurers whose role is to participate in the risks that Hortica insures. These entities are basically capital market companies that spread risk and capital among individual insurers and allow us to provide large limits of insurance needed by our customers.
Hortica's key reinsurers include Endurance Re and General Reinsurance (a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway). Hortica also has relationships with other domestic and international reinsurers to provide financial protection against catastrophes such as hurricanes and earthquakes.
Through our brokerage division, Hortica contracts with select national and regional insurance companies, including United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Chubb, Hartford and Zurich. The policies of these companies are delivered by Hortica when their products best fit the needs of our clients.
